Although the construction is more complex than the simple curved Nicks nozzle, it is unsurpassed in compensation and delivers perfect results even in model aircraft.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe nozzle is made entirely of stainless steel and hard-soldered. The nozzle head is scaled 1:2. This sounds bigger than it is, as the original nozzles are very small. The nozzle appears correctly dimensioned on models of almost any size. The tube with a 2.5 mm diameter is approx. 240 mm long and 40 mm high for the angled version for installation in the vertical stabilizer. In the original, this length is about 750 mm, so our nozzle has the correct length for 1:3 scale models. For smaller models, the tube can be shortened slightly; for larger ones, it could be extended and stiffened with a carbon fiber tube. This is achieved by connecting a TEK nozzle to the variometer sensor. For slow models flying at a constant speed, a simple variometer without TEK is often sufficient. Here, the errors due to controlled altitude changes are not so great, and thermals can be easily recognized by the variometer. The cleaner you fly and the smaller the speed changes, the better the variometer works without a TEK nozzle. With dynamic models or even with imperfect flying style, however, there are always variometer outputs that do not show the model's true climb and descent, but only a controlled speed or altitude change, the \"stick thermals\". In fact, when searching for thermals, the only thing that matters is whether you are flying in rising, falling, or neutral air mass.
