Beta 1400 ARF Version BLUE, Wingspan 1400mm, Beginner Model

BETA 1400 is constructed from highly resistant, extruded polyolefin foam (EPO) and is powered by a brushless motor. Thanks to the motor being placed on the pylon behind the wing, the model is very resilient to rough handling and can withstand nose-in landings, which would typically damage the propeller on classic models with the motor in the nose of the fuselage.

The fuselage with the pylon behind the wing is prepared for mounting a brushless outrunner motor. The fuselage is made of EPO foam. The bowden cables with wire linkages for controlling the rudder and elevator are already glued in. The servo bays are prepared. The canopy is removable with a magnetic catch. The two-part wing is also made of EPO foam. The ailerons are controlled by 2 servos, which are connected in the wing by short direct wire linkages.
The wing halves are connected with a CFK tube connector and secured with a screw on the underside of the wing. The tailplane, in the classic arrangement, is also made of EPO foam and is controlled by bowden cables. The motor is cooled by the airflow that flows through the pylon and motor openings. Ailerons, rudder, elevator, and motor speed are controlled.

To control the model, you need at least a 4-channel RC set. In this case, both aileron servos are connected to one channel with a Y-cable.
When connecting the receiver, follow the operating instructions of your RC set. It is ideal to use at least a 5-channel computer RC set. This allows aileron servos to be controlled independently. In this case, you can adjust the differentiation of the aileron deflections. For beginners, we recommend 50% - i.e., the downward deflection of the aileron is limited to 50% of the upward deflection.
To facilitate landing, it is advantageous to mix the ailerons as aerodynamic brakes (tilt them upwards). This is appreciated on smaller landing areas and especially when flying on slopes.
When setting the aerodynamic brakes, make sure that with full upward deflection of the ailerons in brake mode, the possibility of their full upward deflection in aileron function is also maintained.

BETA 1400 is suitable for flight novices - we always recommend making the first flights under the supervision of an experienced pilot to enjoy a relaxing time in model flying.
The flight characteristics are pleasant. The model familiarizes you with control around all three axes, as well as with proper coordinated control with rudder, elevator, and ailerons. This experience is useful when you start flying with your first aerobatic model or semi-/scale model.
By changing the length ratios of the servo and control horns, you can adjust the control throws. The flight novice starts with small deflections. The experienced pilot sets large deflections, which also allow for a bit of aerobatics - BETA handles loops, barrel rolls, and turns quite well!
BETA 1400 can also take advantage of weak thermals and stay in the sky for a very long time.
