Beta 1400 RTF Version RED, Span 1400mm, Beginner Model

The BETA 1400 is constructed from highly resistant, extruded polyolefin foam (EPO) and is powered by a brushless motor. Thanks to the motor being mounted on a pylon behind the wing, the model is very resistant to rough handling and can even withstand nose-dives, which would damage the propeller on classic models with the motor in the nose.

The fuselage with the pylon behind the wing is prepared for the installation of a brushless outrunner motor. The fuselage is made of EPO foam. The bowden cables with wire linkages for controlling the rudder and elevator are already glued in. The servo bays are prepared. The canopy is removable with a magnetic clasp. The two-part wing is also made of EPO foam. The ailerons are controlled by 2 servos, which are linked in the wing by short direct wire linkages.
The wing halves are connected with a carbon fiber tube connector and secured with a screw on the underside of the wing. The tail surfaces in the classic arrangement are also made of EPO foam and are controlled by bowden cables. The motor is cooled by the airflow, which flows through the pylon and motor openings. The ailerons, rudder, elevator, and motor speed are controlled.

To control the model, you need at least a 4-channel RC set. In this case, both aileron servos are connected to one channel with a Y-cable.
When connecting the receiver, follow the instructions in your RC set manual. It is ideal to use at least a 5-channel computer RC set. This allows the aileron servos to be controlled independently. In this case, you can adjust the aileron differential. For beginners, we recommend 50% - i.e., the downward deflection of the aileron is limited to 50% of the upward deflection.
To facilitate landing, it is advantageous to mix the ailerons as aerodynamic brakes (tilt them upwards). You will appreciate this on smaller landing areas and especially when flying on slopes.
When setting the aerodynamic brakes, make sure that when the ailerons are fully deflected upwards in the braking function, the possibility of their full upward deflection in the aileron function is also maintained.

BETA 1400 is suitable for new pilots - we always recommend - to take the first flights under the supervision of an experienced pilot to enjoy a relaxing time flying the model.
The flight characteristics are pleasant. The model will familiarize you with control around all three axes, as well as with proper coordinated control using rudder, elevator, and ailerons. This experience is useful when you start flying your first aerobatic model or semi-/scale model.
By changing the length ratios of the servo and control horns, you can adjust the control throws. New pilots start with small deflections. Experienced pilots set large deflections, which also allow for a bit of aerobatics - loops, barrel rolls, and turns are handled quite well by the BETA!
The BETA 1400 can also take advantage of weak thermals and stay in the sky for a long time.
