The Douglas DC-3 had its maiden flight on December 17, 1935, and over 16,000 original units were built. It was characterized by robustness, safety, and economy. Amazingly, this aircraft was used not only as a passenger and transport aircraft but also as a glider tug.
This model of the DC-3 was developed with particular attention to detail and is a beautiful miniaturization of the original with very good flight characteristics. Thanks to its 3-part wing, the center section can remain attached to the fuselage, allowing the model to be placed, for example, sideways in a car trunk. At the airfield, only the two wing halves are then slid on from the left and right.
