Retractable Landing Gear Scale 1:2.5 with Wheel ø 127mm

Following the trend towards lightweight and robust landing gear, WEMO has converted its entire range of landing gear to retractable landing gear consisting of CFRP side panels and aluminum steering knuckles. All components have been modified for low weight and yet robust construction.

The side panels of the 1:2.5 scale landing gear with 127 mm wheel are made of 4.0 mm CFRP. All milled edges are chamfered at 45 degrees, so these parts pose no risk of injury and are very pleasant to the touch. Servo mounts for a standard-sized servo are integrated as standard on the left and right in the side panels. This eliminates the need for additional purchase of servo holders, and the servos for wheel drive and the brake servo can be installed directly. Fastening is intended with M3 screws, and the holes matching the servo are already present in the servo mounts.

Weight-optimized and elegantly designed due to CNC-manufactured geometry; the mechanical design ensures the wheel is firmly locked in the extended/retracted state. This means, for example, that the wheel cannot extend due to centrifugal forces during a loop. In the undamped version, the landing gear is mounted in the glider between 2 bulkheads.

• in the damped version, the landing gear is mounted in the glider on a main bulkhead; the movable part of the landing gear is guided laterally only in a thin bulkhead at the rear
• the installation height of the retractable landing gear in the fuselage is variable
• the moving parts are mounted in brass bushings

The basic equipment consists of:

• the two side panels in 4.0 mm carbon
• the two wheel suspension arms in 5.0 mm aluminum (mirror polished)
• the necessary spacer bolts
• servo mounts for two servos
• the pivoting mechanism including drive lever
• the necessary stainless steel screws
• 1 solid rubber wheel 127 mm from FEMA (the FEMA wheel is equipped with ball bearings)
• two front flange plates for mounting the landing gear in the main bulkhead
  (these allow the landing gear to move backward/upward for rubber shock mounts/suspension)
