Graupner Hawk 18 HoTT Receiver, 3-Axis Gyro and Vario (9-channel), # S1053
With the Hawk 18, Graupner presents a powerful 9-channel receiver with integrated 3-axis gyro and a particularly vibration-insensitive 3-axis accelerometer, diversity antennas, vario, and attitude mode for fixed-wing models, or rescue mode and attitude mode for helicopters.
With GRAUPNER HoTT 2.4GHz technology, the receiver features a secure Hopping Telemetry Transmission high-frequency section with high-quality components and state-of-the-art software. The receiver transmits the parameters "receiver voltage", "receiver temperature", "signal strength", "altitude", and "altitude difference (vario)" to the transmitter without additional sensors. Furthermore, it is possible to transmit and display the Euler angles on the transmitter.
The antenna amplifier, together with the antenna diversity, ensures an enormous range. The faster 32-bit L4 processor guarantees energy-efficient operation, and the higher performance ensures that the Hawk 18 can also be used as a flybarless system for helicopters and as a flight controller for copters. Of course, the integrated Hawk gyro system can also be perfectly used for fixed-wing models. Here there are 4 different gyro modes: OFF, normal stabilization, heading lock, rate mode, and attitude mode. The rate mode, when correctly set, allows for knife-edge flight and torque rolls without control corrections. Extremely quick, easy, and convenient to set up via the HoTT transmitter telemetry menu.
Fixed-wing models:
- Stabilization of the model in difficult wind conditions for up to 3 axes
- Natural flight behavior due to proportional gyro fade-out
- The 3-axis gyro makes even difficult-to-control aerobatic models very forgiving to fly, and aerobatics become extremely simplified
- Flight figures can be flown much more cleanly
- 4 different gyro modes: OFF, normal stabilization, heading lock, rate mode for particularly easy knife-edge flight and easy torque rolls, as well as attitude mode
- Easy adjustment of gyro assignment
- Parameter adjustment via HoTT telemetry
- Software with attitude mode enables easy landings even in difficult wind conditions
- 5 free mixers
- SUMD output for connection to flybarless systems, flight controllers, or a power box
- SUMDIN input for redundant receiver operation
Flybarless system for helicopters:
- Rescue mode and attitude mode for helicopters
- Basic setup done in minutes via HoTT telemetry
- Fast and innovative axis assignment for flexible mounting orientation
- Extremely space-saving due to size, weight, and elimination of cables, thus easy to accommodate
- Specially vibration-insensitive 3-axis sensors of the latest generation
- Pirouette optimization of the swashplate and direction of tail torque compensation are automatically detected
- All common heli swashplates 90/120/135/140 degrees and 90 degrees 4 servos
- Adjustable swashplate rotation up to 90 degrees for multi-blade heads
- Clear standard and, if required, selectable expert menu
- Sensitivity parameters adjustable during flight by rotation speed and style, also flight-phase dependent via controls
- Super fast due to the elimination of transmission time from receiver to flybarless system
- Very direct control feel
Flybarless for helicopters:
- Easy programming of basic settings via telemetry
- Pirouette optimization is automatically determined from the parameters and works extremely well
- Extreme flight stability with full 3D capability, even with basic settings
- Effect for tail and swashplate easily adjustable via the telemetry menu or selectable controls
- Further optimization options in expert mode for personal flying style and preferences
- Extremely simple adjustment of basic settings via telemetry:
- Rotor direction of rotation
- Swashplate type
- Swashplate frequency 50...200 Hz
- Swashplate direction
- Swashplate servo center Servo 1...3 (4)
- Swashplate cyclic path set to 8°
- Swashplate pitch path A/B
- Swashplate limit
- Swashplate rotation Tail servo center pulse 760µs, 960µs, 1.5ms
- Tail servo frequency 50...333 Hz
- Tail servo center position
- Rescue pitch
- Expo yes/no
- Logging for service purposes or for Euler angle display
- Expert mode yes/no
- Easy gyro axis assignment
- Gyro effect for tail and swashplate via telemetry or adjustable controls
- Further parameters can be set in expert mode
