This scale replica of a US combat aircraft is in many ways a fascinating and unusual aircraft. It's not a "sprinter," but it offers other advantages that were more important for the model. Above all, the large wing area and the twin-engine concept created good conditions for a low wing loading, combined with very good motorization.
This A-10 was designed to be powered by 2 "Race 400 plus" motors, supplied by an 8-9 cell battery up to 1.8 Ah. As an option, there is equipment with 2 impellers, Turbo-Fan 1000, for the Mabuchi 540 BBVZ motor class in series, with 14 NC cells 1200mA.
The model is controlled via elevator and ailerons; sensitive speed control is a must here. The flight characteristics can be described as completely uncritical, although the model can also be flown relatively fast.
The standard version of the model includes rigid landing gear, which makes ground takeoffs on a hard runway easily possible. Hand launches are also no problem. For this "mode of operation," the model without landing gear, but with a hand grip recess, is more suitable.
