FES Retract Landing Gear Scale 1:4.0 with 90mm Wheel

Since only a few landing gears are available on the market for this scale, WEMO has taken on the challenge and designed a light, yet stable retract landing gear. To achieve the ground clearance necessary for FES drives, the axle journals have been extended by 30 mm.

The side parts and axle journals of the 1:4.0 scale landing gear with 90 mm wheel are made of 4.0 mm CFK. All milled edges are provided with a 45-degree chamfer, so that these parts do not pose a risk of injury and the haptics are very pleasant. The left side panel is equipped as standard with two servo wings for a standard-sized servo for wheel drive. This eliminates the need to purchase an additional servo mount, and the servo for the wheel drive can be installed directly. Fastening is intended with M3 screws; the holes matching the servo are already present in the servo mounts.

Weight-optimized and aesthetically pleasing design through CNC-manufactured geometry. Due to the mechanical design, the wheel is firmly locked in the extended/retracted position. Thus, the wheel cannot be extended by centrifugal forces, for example, during a loop.

• fastening in the glider is firmly between two bulkheads or at the back together with the vibration rubber mounting
• the landing gear is locked at the front with a cross brace in the main bulkhead
• the installation height of the retract landing gear in the fuselage is variable
• the moving parts are mounted in brass bushings

The basic equipment consists of:

• the two side panels in 4.0 mm carbon
• the two wheel suspension arms in 4.0 mm carbon (extended by 30 mm compared to the standard landing gear)
• the necessary spacer bolts
• servo mounts for one servo
• the swivel mechanism including drive lever
• the necessary stainless steel screws
• 1 solid rubber wheel 90 mm with aluminum rim

NEW:
WEMO has now also designed this landing gear size so that vibration rubber mounts can be used at the back. For this purpose, the recess for the mounting clamp on the front has been changed. This mounting now allows a degree of movement of the landing gear of approx. 30 mm upwards on the rear side, so that the vibration rubber mounts can work. If the vibration rubbers are not used and the landing gear is firmly installed between two bulkheads, the CFK clamp firmly fixes the landing gear in the bulkhead at the front.
