Together with the Swiss world champion pilot Daniel Aeberli, FMS developed the world's first high-performance foam glider – the FMS ASW-17.

The new ASW-17 from FMS, with a wingspan of 2.50 meters, impresses with numerous innovative new solutions, enormous stability during the wildest aerobatic maneuvers and high G-forces, and a well-engineered aluminum/carbon fiber/foam construction.

The wing connectors, made of CNC-milled aluminum, are simply screwed into the fuselage. The wings, as well as the horizontal and vertical stabilizers, are designed with a "Quick-Release" system, where the wings and stabilizers simply "snap" into place, allowing the model to be fully assembled or disassembled in just a few seconds.

A powerful 750KV brushless motor, combined with a 40A speed controller and an efficient 13.5x6" folding propeller, provides the propulsion. Both the drive and the 6 MG servos are pre-installed in the model, reducing assembly to simply attaching the fuselage, stabilizers, and wings, and inserting the battery and receiver.
