The Original:
The Piper J-3 Cub is an American light aircraft built by the Piper Aircraft Company between 1937 and 1947 as an affordable trainer. The aircraft was designed to be lightweight and simple, making it easy to handle even at low flight speeds. During World War II, the J-3 Cub was also known as the L-4 Grasshopper. It was used for reconnaissance, transporting supplies, and evacuating wounded soldiers.

The Model:
Like its real-life counterpart, the FMS J-3 Cub V3 features excellent short takeoff and STOL (short takeoff and landing) capabilities. FMS has managed to design the model from durable EPO foam to be as detailed as possible. And in terms of flight appearance, there is hardly any difference from the original.

Reflex Stabilization System (included in this set)
This set includes a Reflex system specifically programmed for this aircraft. This electronic stabilization system is designed to assist the pilot with control commands, but not to interfere. The Reflex system works with both PPM and S-BUS receivers and natively with all common remote control systems. If the Reflex system is assigned to a 3-channel switch on the transmitter, 3 different modes can be selected:

• Stabilized Mode: When the control sticks are released, the model is automatically brought into a neutral flight attitude, which provides a lot of safety for beginners and inexperienced pilots in tricky situations.
• Optimized Mode: The gyroscopic system of the Reflex system counteracts external influences such as wind gusts or crosswinds and keeps the model precisely in a stable position.
• Off: The Reflex System can be completely switched off.
• The Reflex System is specially adjusted for this flight model. No further programming is required; only installation and connection in the model need to be carried out. The Reflex System can be connected to all receivers with at least 4 channels.

Authentic Replica:

• The FMS Piper J-3 Cub V3 with a 1.40m wingspan is in no way inferior to the original. The engine, exhaust system, and spring-loaded landing gear are faithfully reproduced, and the skylight and many small details make the Cub a convincing scale model. And to bring some color to the Cubs, the model has received a beautiful and historical red paint job. Because not all Cubs were yellow!

Powerful Drive:

• The Cub is powered by a 3S LiPo with a powerful 35-size 850KV brushless outrunner motor. The drive is controlled by a Predator 40A flight controller. With the recommended 3S 2200mAh battery, flight times of about 5 minutes are possible.

• To make the Piper J-3 Cub capable of water takeoffs and landings, just like the original, a 100% precisely fitting and authentic float set is included. The model can also be steered on the water via the rudders and moved into the correct starting position.
