How often do you encounter the problem of getting a soft linkage when using a ball on the servo arm? With the angled clevis, you get a firm linkage because the servo arm and the servo drive no longer bend. In addition, it is, of course, possible to operate the servo with a 180-degree travel. This is often necessary when operating landing gear, spoilers, or flaps.
The clevis also makes it possible, for example, to offset aileron linkage in height, or, to put it another way, to place the linkage on the top of the wing without raising the servo more than necessary. This keeps the linkage straight and does not have to be bent, as is often done.
