The distance from the servo output to the center of the ball is 54mm, the fork opening is 6mm.
The delivery includes a pre-installed ball joint, item no. 993021. To ensure that the high torque of modern digital servos is transmitted smoothly and without play to the actuated element (e.g., rudder), this new design of the forked servo arm was engineered for extreme loads. The force is transmitted centrally from the servo splines, and the fork design effectively prevents the servo output from jamming. The servo arms are made from highly compressed carbon fiber plastic. The arms are formed in hardened stainless steel molds at 300°C and under high pressure. Since this process is similar to the manufacturing of highly stressed components in large aircraft construction, it was adopted for the production of these servo arms. The result is a high-strength component that can stand comparison with duralumin. However, it is lighter and more vibration-resistant. All servo arms are manufactured in Germany on state-of-the-art CNC machines.
