Canopy Mechanism 1:2.0 – 1:2.5

This is a universally applicable canopy mechanism for the front canopy.

Description:

• Made from 3.0 mm GRP (black colored)
• The canopy is pushed upwards by a spring and a toggle lever mechanism when open, and pressed onto the canopy frame when closed.
• The spring is widely adjustable and can be adapted to the canopy weight via its preload.
• It can operate canopies weighing from 300 – 1200 grams.
• Weight: 164 grams
• The entire mechanism is glued into the model using a main former (6 mm aircraft plywood / 10-ply laminated) and can be removed from the model by undoing just 2 screws.
• The mechanism has an additional small support former on the rear, into which the mechanism is simply inserted. This distributes the load over two formers.
• The canopy is glued to the underside of the instrument panel with a small wooden part. The wooden part has a bayonet fitting that is inserted into the carrying arm of the mechanism and secured to the carrying arm with a central knurled screw. This allows the entire canopy to be detached from the model in seconds.

Notes:

• Since the weight of the canopy varies greatly depending on the model scale and level of completion, the preload of the spring can be widely adjusted by the user. For this, the mechanism must be removed from the main former via the two fastening screws and disassembled. This can be done in a few minutes. The preload of the spring is adjusted by installing washers. These are included in the scope of delivery.
