Canopy Mechanism 1:3.0 – 1:3.5

This is a universally applicable canopy mechanism for the front canopy.

Description:

• Made from 3.0 mm GRP (black colored)
• The canopy is pushed upwards in the open position by a spring and a toggle mechanism, and pressed onto the canopy frame in the closed position.
• The spring is widely adjustable and can be adapted to the canopy weight via preload.
• Canopies weighing 300 – 1000 grams can be operated with it.
• Weight: 130 grams
• The entire mechanism is glued to the model via a main bulkhead (6 mm aircraft plywood / 10-ply laminated) and can be removed from the model by undoing only 2 screws.
• The mechanism has an additional small support bulkhead on the back, into which the mechanism is simply inserted. This distributes the load over two bulkheads.
• The canopy is glued to the underside of the instrument panel with a small wooden part. The wooden part has a bayonet fitting that is inserted into the support arm of the mechanism and screwed to the support arm with a central knurled screw. This allows the entire canopy to be separated from the model in seconds.

• Two wooden bulkheads (front main bulkhead with allowance for fuselage molding)
• Glue-on plate for instrument panel (removable)
• Screws and washers

Notes:

• Since the weight of the canopy varies greatly depending on the model scale and level of detail, the spring preload can be adjusted by the user within wide limits. To do this, the mechanism must be removed from the main bulkhead via the two mounting screws and disassembled. This can be done in a few minutes. The spring preload is adjusted by installing washers. These are included in the scope of delivery.
