Hood Mechanism 130-135-Short
Canopy Mechanism Short Version 1:2.0 – 1:3.5
This is a universally applicable canopy mechanism for the front canopy in a shortened design. This can be used when space constraints do not allow the installation of our canopy mechanism with a spring (e.g., if an FES motor restricts the installation space or if the model has a short nose).
It has the following features:
- made of 3.0 mm GRP (black colored)
- the canopy is guided upwards by hand and locks into place at the highest point
- to unlock, a spring-loaded pin is pushed aside, and the canopy can be lowered by hand
- Weight: 100 grams
- the entire mechanism is glued to the model via a main bulkhead (6 mm aircraft plywood / 10-ply) and can be removed from the model by disassembling only 2 screws
- the canopy is glued to a small wooden part on the underside of the instrument panel base. The wooden part has a bayonet lock that is inserted into the support arm of the mechanism and screwed to the support arm with a central knurled screw. This allows the entire canopy to be separated from the model in seconds
- the canopy mechanism can be universally used in scales 1:3.5 - 1:2.0
Scope of delivery:
- Canopy mechanism fully assembled with locking mechanism
- a wooden bulkhead (front main bulkhead with allowance for fuselage molding)
- Gluing plate for instrument panel base (detachable)
- Mounting material
Notes:
- the canopy can be completely removed in seconds without tools via a central knurled screw. This is very helpful when working on the canopy, the instrument panel or the model (if the canopy is in the way). The bayonet lock, which is screwed to the gluing plate, positively engages with the support arm. This ensures that the canopy sits very stably in the support arm and cannot wobble. After attachment, the canopy is already held in the bayonet and can then be fastened with the central screw.
- all components necessary for the installation and operation of the mechanism are supplied. As the user, you only need to mold the upper model geometry and transfer it to the main bulkhead. This comes with an appropriate allowance. Positioning and gluing complete the necessary work.
