Helios is a sleek lightweight glider constructed using conventional wood. The only deviation from this principle is the carbon fuselage tube. With its compact dimensions and two-piece wing, the model is easy to transport and quick to assemble at the airfield.
The wing is built in the proven aero-naut manner on a jig, which allows for secure positioning of all components and a warp-free construction. The wing is partially planked and offers – depending on the choice of covering material – interesting visual design possibilities. With its four large flaps, Helios can still be controlled safely even at low speeds, and the landing flaps are a reliable descent and landing aid.
Thanks to its low weight, the model's energy requirement is low. Even larger capacity batteries easily fit into the spacious fuselage nose. Helios is a model for connoisseurs – starting with the construction of the model with its precisely laser-cut components and ending with relaxing flights in evening thermals or in light winds on the slope.
