The Platinum V5 180A HV V5 is an extremely powerful ESC with a 5-12V Switch BEC for the 550-700 class aircraft range. This is ensured by the built-in 32-bit processor in combination with a specially developed algorithm for speed accuracy, which significantly sets the ESC's performance apart from similar ESCs on the market. In addition to this algorithm, the Platinum V5 180A is equipped with protocols that allow various transmitter systems to read the ESC's data. These include, for example, the Mikado VBar system and Futaba S.BUS2.
The modern advantages of the Platinum V5 are also evident in its design, such as the many protection functions to make the next flight as safe as possible. These include protection against overheating of the ESC itself as well as for the attached capacitors. To prevent excessive heat from building up in the first place and activating this protection, the ESC features a double-sided heat sink with side ventilation. This allows air to flow quickly through the interior of the ESC and cool it efficiently. If this is no longer sufficient, the various protection functions intervene and prevent major damage.
