The Platinum V5 80A is an extremely powerful ESC with 5-12V Switch BEC for aircraft applications. Compared to its predecessor, this ESC impresses with faster throttle response, higher efficiency, and lower temperature rise, clearly setting it apart from comparable ESCs. This is ensured by the built-in 32-bit processor in combination with a specially developed algorithm for speed accuracy. In addition to this algorithm, the Platinum V5 80A is equipped with protocols that allow various transmitter systems to read the ESC's data. These include, for example, the Mikado VBar system and Futaba S.BUS2.

The modern advantages of the Platinum V5 are also evident in its design, such as the numerous protection functions to make the next flight as safe as possible. These include protection against overheating of the ESC itself and for the attached capacitors. However, to prevent excessive heat buildup and the need to activate this protection, the ESC features a double-sided heatsink with side ventilation. This allows air to flow quickly through the interior of the ESC and cool it efficiently. Should that not be enough, the various protection functions will intervene and prevent major damage.
