The Model:

Libelle Competition - Libelle Evo - Libelle Supreme - Libelle A 380 ... Excellent genes for the INTRODUCTION F5J, our first model for the still young F5J competition class! Of course, also for "staying up", "relaxers/slow-downers", "those who go to the airfield without a charger", and "those who don't recharge between flights". The inspiration was our famous Libelle A380, whose only shortcoming (lack of landing aids) has now been remedied by the introduction of the Introduction F5J.

As before: Stable tube spar construction, precisely laser-cut wooden structure, extremely simple assembly (Höllein 3D puzzle), problem-free and extremely forgiving takeoff, flight, and landing characteristics, wide speed range due to the use of the AG35mod. airfoil, outstanding handling and thermal characteristics. Easy procurement of individual parts and assemblies. Made in Germany!

New features: 2860mm wingspan, from 920g flying weight, 3-part wing with 4-fold dihedral and attached wingtips, tailplane in weight-saving, mortised truss construction, forward-mounted and removable horizontal stabilizer (optional), 90° trailing edge flaps, wing connector in the main spar, innovative (tool-free and tape-free) locking of the wing panels. Vertical descent with deployed flaps (90°) and thus problem-free landing approaches outside the leeward wake (fiss!) also possible.

The recommended propulsion system – consisting of the Hacker A20-22L evo brushless outrunner, a 3-cell LiPo with 1300mAh capacity, and the CamCarbon 11x6 propeller – allows for many climbs to thermal-susceptible altitudes. Due to the low flying weight, 5-10s motor run time per climb is completely sufficient.

The Kit:

The central design feature of the wing is the carbon fiber tube spar, onto which the laser-cut ribs are "threaded". Beautifully shaped wingtips ensure an elegant wing finish. We have given our Introduction F5J the most shapely fuselage of our Grüner kit series to date and consistently designed it for the use of small brushless outrunners. With almost 3m wingspan and a wing area of 65dm² (wing loading 14g/dm²), we achieve a flying weight starting from 920g! The long fuselage and the 4-fold dihedral with attached wingtips enable outstanding circling performance.

The balsa wood fuselage is reinforced in the front area with light plywood. A pre-milled nose block is already prepared for the Hacker A20-22L evo. In addition to the laser-cut components, the kit includes CFRP spars, GRP leading edges, as well as all linkage and small parts. A multi-color 1:1 scale construction plan and a richly illustrated German assembly manual are standard with kits from our Grüner-CNC-Line.

Adhesives, covering material, propulsion, and RC components are not included in the kit. For covering the model, we recommend ORACOVER or ORALIGHT heat-shrink film.
