KAVAN Cumul 100, Glider/Electric Model Kit
Wingspan 2540mm, Kavan # KAV02.8019
The kit for the high-performance thermal glider CUMUL 100, featuring a fiberglass fuselage pod, a carbon fiber tail boom, and a very light wing and tail surfaces traditionally built with spars and ribs from balsa wood.
The model can be easily converted into an electric glider by cutting off the nose of the fuselage.
CUMUL 100 is the ideal project for modelers who want to build a truly high-performance model for recreational and competition flights. Thanks to its excellent design with CNC-cut parts, construction is very fast and straightforward. The parts, equipped with notches and cutouts, fit together like puzzle pieces, making assembly very quick and easy.
With the Cumul 100, you can compete in F5J categories or various "Enduro" classes. The kit includes fuselage parts for both a glider and an electric flight model. Construction is quick and not too complex - CUMUL 100 is still a relatively simple model, but it is not suitable for beginners.
The front part of the fuselage consists of a GRP fuselage pod with a removable canopy for perfect access to the rudder and elevator servos, the receiver, and/or the motor, ESC, and flight battery.
To easily modify the fuselage pod for electric motor installation, the kit includes a plywood jig for cutting off the nose of the fuselage. The tail of the fuselage consists of a carbon tube boom with a glued pylon and a core of light plywood reinforced with balsa to secure the horizontal stabilizer boom. The kit also includes an adjustable high-start hook.
The three-part wing with the AG 40-42 airfoil is constructed in a classic design with balsa ribs and balsa sheeting for the D-box. The main spar consists of spruce strips with balsa webbing, ensuring high structural strength at very low weight.
The outer panels with elegant winglets are attached to the center section with carbon connectors and dural twist pins.
The flaps and ailerons are controlled independently by four servos with short wire linkages. The wing is attached to the fuselage with two plastic screws.
The flat tail assembly is built from CNC-cut balsa parts. For easy transport, the horizontal stabilizer is removable and secured with two plastic screws. The elevator and rudder are controlled by pushrods.
