Building Instructions

After 20 years and many thousands of "Made in Germany/Highest Quality Kits" sold, we have "tuned" the Libelle. Its outstanding flight characteristics, easy handling, and exceptionally stable and lightweight construction with pine spars and spar webbing remain. NEW features include balsa planking (up to the main spar) and standard airbrakes with innovative linkages. This allows the required landing area to be even smaller than before. Precision landings in competitions are now easily possible. The low weight of the Libelle EVO V2, the high mechanical stability due to the partial planking of the wing, and not least the standard airbrakes make the V2 extremely interesting for electric "everyman" competitions and for high-alpine use in unknown terrains. We therefore hardly had to change the description text (essentially from 1993, familiar to many from our print catalog - the "Höllein Bible"):

"You'd like a new glider, but your wife (girlfriend, etc...) places several conditions on the new model? For example, it shouldn't be too big so there's still room for other things in the car, not too hectic to fly so YOU can relax while flying, not devour too many building hours in the basement, and it certainly shouldn't jeopardize the repayment of installments for the new kitchen! Honestly: Do you already have the fifth glider that requires 200m of obstacle-free approach space and a flat, 100m long airfield for flaring? Our Libelle can be hand-landed if necessary! The flight performance and the quality of the components (laser-cut) radiate a fascination that will not leave you untouched. With our LIBELLE EVO V2, you can fly for hours in light winds along any railway embankment or hill, of course, only if you want to."

The Kit:
Still MADE IN GERMANY, of course! From the kit, you'll take out a laser-cut rib set, playfully insert the root rib into a rib set, playfully insert the root rib into a laser-cutfuselage side panel... or the main spar into the precisely laser-cutrib cutout... or the laser-cut fin into the designated fitting of the laser-cuthorizontal stabilizer... and you will share our enthusiasm for the first model of our (at that time) CNC-manufactured model series (original Libelle since 1993!). The production of our LIBELLE EVO was moved from LÖSER-CNC to GRÜNER CNC Service (the ones with the CLIMAXX, THERMAL INSTINCT, SOPWITH PUP, ...) in April 2002. During this process, the construction was carefully modified (after all, we don't want to make anything worse) and optimized. Now, the fin is positively joined with the horizontal stabilizer in the fuselage, thereby eliminating construction errors. The wing is now built with webbed pine spars that already pre-define the dihedral. A "rib comb" for vertical alignment of the ribs is included. The bulkheads are now mortised with the fuselage side panels. The new building plan ( now multi-colored! in the usual top quality from GRÜNER) and the equally new (detailed, with many color photos and true-to-detail) building instructions with perspective drawings complement the previous equipment.

LIBELLE EVO V2 - Laser-cut in perfection!

The kit contains all necessary wooden parts (most of them laser-cut), control horns made of laser-cut plywood, and a complete small parts and linkage set. With a multi-color printed 1:1 CAD plan! Adhesives and covering film (we recommend ORACOVER) are not included in the kit. The RC equipment of our "demo Libelles" consists of 2 KSTDS 113 servos for elevator and rudder, 2 x 4.3g servos for operating the airbrakes. For the powertrain, we use the MPX Roxxy 2834/10 outrunner, a 2S/1300 Lipo, and the MPX Roxxy 722 ESC. The Aeronaut CamCarbon 11x6 propeller ensures excellent climbing performance with this setup. Our test models are equipped with Futaba receivers. There is also enough space for all other 2.4GHz receivers.
