BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS

Our Libelle Evo V2. The evolution of a legend!

• April 1993(!): Original Libelle by Egon Löser, manufactured by Löser CNC in Germany
• April 2002: Libelle EVO, revised and manufactured by HAUCK Modelle in Germany
• September 2003: Libelle EVO, revised and manufactured by Grüner CNC in Germany
• End of 2013: Libelle EVO V2, revised and manufactured by Grüner CNC in Germany

After 20 years and many thousands of "Made in Germany/Highest Quality Kits" sold, we have "tuned" the Libelle. What remains are the outstanding flight characteristics, the easy handling, and the exceptionally stable and lightweight construction with spruce spars and spar webbing. NEW are the balsa sheeting (up to the main spar) and the standard airbrakes with innovative linkage. This allows for an even smaller landing area than before. Precision landings in competitions are now easily possible. The low weight of the Libelle EVO V2, the high mechanical stability due to the partial sheeting of the wing, and last but not least the standard airbrakes make the V2 extremely interesting for R.E.S. competitions. We therefore hardly had to change anything in the description text (essentially since 1993, familiar to many from our print catalog - the "Höllein Bible"):

"Would you like a new plane, but your wife (girlfriend, etc...) sets several conditions for the new model? For example, it shouldn't be too big so there's still room in the car for other things, it shouldn't be too hectic to fly so YOU can relax while flying, it shouldn't devour too many building hours in the basement, and it certainly shouldn't jeopardize the repayment of installments for the new kitchen! Honestly: Do you already have your fifth glider that needs 200m of obstacle-free approach space and a perfectly flat, 100m long airfield for flaring out? With our Libelle, you can even land in your hand if necessary! The flight performance and the quality of the components (laser-cut) emanate a fascination that will not leave you untouched. With our LIBELLE EVO V2, you can fly for hours in light winds along any railway embankment or hill, of course, only if you want to."

The kit:
Still MADE IN GERMANY, of course! You take a laser-cut rib set from the kit, playfully insert the root rib into a laser-cut fuselage side panel... or the main spar into the precisely laser-cut* rib cutout... or the laser-cut vertical stabilizer into the designated fitting of the laser-cut horizontal stabilizer... and you will share our enthusiasm for the first model of our (at that time still) CNC-manufactured model series (original Libelle since 1993!). The production of our LIBELLE EVO was moved from LÖSER-CNC to GRÜNER CNC Service (the ones with the CLIMAXX, THERMAL INSTINCT, SOPWITH PUP), ...) in April 2002. The construction was carefully modified (after all, we don't want to make anything worse) and optimized. Now the vertical stabilizer is positively dovetailed with the horizontal stabilizer in the fuselage, thus eliminating construction errors. The wing is built with webbed spruce spars, which already define the dihedral. A "rib comb" for vertical alignment of the ribs is included. The bulkheads are now dovetailed with the fuselage side panels. The new building plan (now multi-color in Grüner's usual top quality) and the equally new (detailed, with many color photos and accurate) building instructions with perspective drawings complement the previous equipment.

LIBELLE EVO V2 - Laser-cut in perfection! The kit contains all necessary wooden parts (most of them laser-cut), control horns made of laser-cut plywood, and a complete set of small parts and linkages. With a multi-color printed 1:1 CAD plan! Not included in the kit are glue and covering film (we recommend ORACOVER). The RC equipment of our "demo and display Libelles" consists of 2 KSTDS113 servos for elevator and rudder, 2 4.3g servos for the airbrake linkage, and a square 800mAh Eneloop receiver battery. Our test models are equipped with Futaba receivers. There is also sufficient space for all other 2.4GHz receivers.
