OS MAX AX two-stroke engines are the latest series of powerful propulsion units, designed primarily for sport and aerobatic models. The thoroughly reworked design features a unique ABL (Advanced Bimetallic Liner) insert with a two-layer surface treatment made of specially developed alloys to minimize friction and wear during operation, ensuring high performance and a long service life. The futuristically shaped hexagonal cylinder head with large cooling fins provides excellent cooling and enables higher performance with the same dimensions as the classic FX series. Thanks to this, you can benefit from the wide range of kits and model plans developed over the past decades for OS MAX two-stroke engines, or achieve a performance increase for your existing model with an FX engine!
The OS MAX 55 AX is a powerful two-stroke engine with a double ball-bearing crankshaft. The engine is suitable for sport and competition aerobatic models of all types. It is equipped with a 40K dual-needle carburetor, whose main needle is oriented diagonally backwards for safe adjustment while the engine is running.
The basic set also includes a very efficient E-3071 (Power Box) expansion muffler. The direction of the exhaust outlet can be changed by rotating the back of the muffler by 360 degrees.
- Same dimensions as the classic OS MAX 46FX.
- The crankshaft has a UNF 1/4-28 thread for the propeller nut.
- Recommended propeller dimensions: Break-in: 12x7” / Sport and aerobatics: 12x7”, 12x8”, 13x6”, 13x7”.
- Recommended fuel tank: 350-400 ml; a 350 ml tank is sufficient for 10-12 minutes of aerobatics, assuming you are not always flying at full throttle.
- Recommended fuel: at least 18% castor oil or synthetic oil (or a mixture of synthetic oil and castor oil), 5-20% nitromethane.
- Recommended glow plug: OS MAX No. 8 or for higher nitro content No. 10.
