The LED programming card for KAVAN PRO aircraft ESCs is designed for quick and easy programming of ESCs – at home "on the bench" as well as at the airfield. The ESC is connected using a servo cable; the socket is located on the top side. Power for the card is supplied by the BEC system of the KAVAN PRO ESC, or by a standard 4-5 cell NiCd/NiMH or 2S LiPo/LiFe battery connected to the box (in the case of an OPTO ESC). Programming is performed with the motor and drive battery connected.

WARNING: The KAVAN PRO LED programming card cannot be used to program first-generation FOXY ESCs, and the first-generation FOXY programming card cannot be used to program KAVAN PRO ESCs.

KAVAN PRO aircraft ESCs can be programmed in the model with the propeller attached – however, for safety reasons, we still recommend removing the propeller during programming – this will prevent a potential accident in the event of an operating error. Similarly, when programming ESCs in cars, ensure they are safely standing on removed wheels, and for boats, ensure the propeller is clear of obstructions or that the pinion or propeller shaft coupler is removed.

Programming is done using four buttons on the front panel of the card. With their help, you select the program functions ("ITEM") for adjustment and set their value ("VALUE"). The "OK" button confirms the changes made and saves them to the ESC. The "RESET" button is used to clear all settings and return all values to factory defaults. The program function number is displayed on the left side of the two-digit LED display ("ITEM"), and the function value is displayed on the single-digit LED display on the right ("VALUE").

The method of connecting the ESC to the programming card depends on the type of ESC – it differs depending on whether it is an ESC with BEC power supply or an OPTO ESC. When switching on, follow the instructions that come with the card and your ESC exactly.

The list of functions and adjustable values are noted on the label on the card; the functions are described in detail in the instructions supplied with KAVAN PRO ESCs.
