Wheel Brake for WEMO Undercarriage with Wheel ø 100mm
The brake is not actuated by a bell crank and a cable, but rather by a Bowden cable with a steel wire. The Bowden cable is very thin (2.7 mm) and highly flexible.
The steel cable has a tensile strength of 80 kg. The Bowden cable has two abutments, which are attached to existing mounts on the undercarriage. Connection to the brake servo is via a clevis. The brake is fully assembled upon delivery and only needs to be hooked onto the servo arm of the brake servo.
The advantage of this brake is that the Bowden cable is always the same length; cable stretching and the fiddly task of tying a knot to the correct length are no longer necessary. This type of actuation provides a very stiff brake linkage, which can effectively transfer the servo's force to the brake shoe.
The brake shoe is milled from CFK and is secured to the axle with two snap rings. On all WEMO undercarriages, the axle can be moved up and down via a slot in the axle carrier. This allows for compensation for tire wear and precise adjustment of the brake shoe's distance from the tire.

ATTENTION: This brake can only be used with WEMO undercarriages. It is not suitable for retrofitting to undercarriages from other manufacturers.
