Tow release with quick-release hook for 15 mm servo, Wemo # SK-F15
Tow release with catapult hook for 15 mm servo Wemo # SK-F
The tow release is particularly suitable for models with an FES motor, as the tow rope cannot be used through the fuselage nose due to the motor.
The coupling can be installed anywhere on the fuselage.
Additionally, a catapult hook can be inserted into the tow release. This allows the model to be launched over the slope edge when flying in the Alps.
- Made from high-strength aluminum AW 7075
- Brass body with very strong spring and 3.0 mm steel pin
- Miniature Bowden cable with steel core and 1.3 mm steel wire / galvanized
- Servo mount made of black GRP (with abutment for the Bowden cable) for 15 mm servo
- 4.0 mm wooden board for gluing into the fuselage and mounting the servo holder
- 2 wooden adhesive pieces for routing the Bowden cable
- M2 clevis (steel wire is soldered directly into the clevis)
- Screws and self-locking nuts in M3 for servo installation
- Very low profile, so that, for example, batteries can be installed above the coupling
By using the Bowden cable, the servo for operating the pin can be attached at any conceivable location in the fuselage. This creates entirely new possibilities.
The catapult hook has an angled 5.0 mm stainless steel pin, which is pinned and glued to the insert. Due to the oval shape, the insert can be easily inserted into the tow release from below. This works immediately, guaranteed. The locking is then done by the pin.
Similarly, due to the oval shape, it is very easy to bring the rope loop into position when attaching the tow rope. The loop is virtually force-guided and cannot twist. This works immediately, also guaranteed. The locking is then done by the pin.
ATTENTION: Please note that the locking pin is spring-loaded. This means that after releasing the tow rope, the button/switch on the remote control must be returned to its original position, otherwise the servo will constantly have to work against the spring force!
Length of Bowden cable / steel wire = 500 mm / 550 mm (other lengths can be manufactured if required)
The kit includes all the parts required for assembly (see first picture with all parts).
