Slim-Line FES Retractable Landing Gear Scale 1:4.5 with Wheel ø 76mm

Since only a few landing gears are available on the market for this scale, the company WEMO has taken on the challenge and designed a lightweight, yet stable, retractable landing gear.

The side parts of the landing gear in scale 1:4.5 with a 76 mm wheel are made of 4.0 mm GRP (black colored). All milled edges are processed so that these parts do not pose a risk of injury and the feel is very pleasant.

The steering knuckles are made of 4.0 mm high-strength aluminum (AW 7075 T6) and mirror-polished. In the FES version, these are extended by 25 mm compared to a standard landing gear.

New is the attachment of the wheel drive servo: This is mounted on the back between the side parts, eliminating the need for servo wings on the side. A 10 mm flat servo with 10 kg/cm torque at HV is used. The screw connections for M2 screws are pressed into the GRP as brass inserts.
This design makes the landing gear very narrow, providing ample space in any fuselage of the 1:4.5 scale. Hence the name SLIM-LINE.

Weight-optimized and elegantly designed thanks to CNC-manufactured geometry. Due to the mechanical design, the wheel is firmly locked in both the extended and retracted states. This prevents the wheel from being extended by centrifugal forces during a loop, for example.

- the mounting in the glider is firmly done between two bulkheads or at the rear together with the elastic suspension
- the landing gear is locked at the front with a cross brace in the main bulkhead
- the installation height of the retractable landing gear in the fuselage is variable
- the moving parts are mounted in brass bushings

The basic equipment consists of:

• the two side parts in 4.0 mm GRP / black
• the two wheel arms in 4.0 mm high-strength aluminum
• the necessary spacers
• servo mount for a 10 mm flat servo with M2 captive nuts and matching screws
• the swivel mechanism including drive lever
• the necessary stainless steel screws
• 1 foam rubber wheel 76 mm with aluminum rim, 6.0 mm wheel axle and ball bearings

All landing gears are modular in design and can therefore be individually configured.

The following additional equipment for the landing gear is optionally available:

• wheel cover
• wheel bracket
• wheel braking system (the servo for actuating the brake is located in front of the main bulkhead and is pulled by means of a cord)
• linkage with two M3 clevises and a CFRP tube over the M3 threaded rod

Weight:

• the landing gear weighs 276 grams in its standard configuration, and 335 grams fully equipped. A few grams of additional weight were deliberately accepted in favor of a very stable and durable landing gear.
