Spike is a sporty 6-flap glider with a wingspan of approx. 3.45 m and is suitable for fast or leisurely flights. The performance spectrum of this model is enormous.
The entire model is built from wood. All parts are precisely laser-cut and construction is kept simple by clever templates. The fuselage can be built in a round shape or an extravagant octagonal shape, which gives the model a completely different look than "normal" electric gliders.
The wing is built in the proven aero-naut manner in a jig, which allows for secure positioning of all components and warp-free assembly. The wing is partially planked and offers - depending on the choice of covering material - attractive visual design options. The six large flaps can be programmed as desired and allow the setting of various flight conditions, entirely to the pilot's taste. The 90° deployed airbrakes are a reliable descent and landing aid; their effect can be further improved by combining them with the ailerons.
The model's energy consumption is low. Suitable drive concepts include 3S and 4S LiPo batteries, each with a 790 kv motor and adapted folding propeller.
Spike is a model that not only brings joy to the model pilot. Even building the model with its precisely laser-cut components is a lot of fun and awakens anticipation for beautiful flights in the evening thermals or in light wind on the slope.
