The Original
The DHC-6 Twin Otter is a STOL aircraft for 19 passengers. After a twenty-year production hiatus, a modernized DHC-6-400 version is now offered by Viking Air. The turboprop aircraft is designed as a high-wing aircraft and features a fixed landing gear or floats. The DHC-6 is equipped with variable-pitch propellers, which allows the use of thrust reversal. This optimizes the aircraft for very short take-off and landing runways, requiring a runway length of only 366 m.
It is the only aircraft approved for temperatures down to -65 °C.
The model was based on the original and exhibits similar flight characteristics. With just a few simple steps, the model can be equipped with the optional floats.
