UniSens-E 280 A with 2 x 4 mm² silicone cable, SM-Modellbau # 3115
UniSens-E 280 A with 2x4.0mm Silicone Cable SM # 3115
With improved V2 altitude sensor. The small yet powerful RC telemetry sensor measures and transmits voltage / current / power / capacity / energy / brushless RPM / altitude / variometer.
The UniSens-E is a dedicated telemetry sensor specifically for all electric models. It is so small and lightweight, yet so powerful, that it can be used in almost any model. In line with SM-Modellbau's philosophy of supporting as many systems as possible, the UniSens-E also speaks the language of Jeti Duplex (EX), Multiplex M-Link, Graupner HoTT, Robbe/Futaba FASSTest, and JR DMSS. The UniSens-E automatically recognizes HoTT telemetry systems upon delivery. When used with Jeti, Multiplex, Futaba, or JR, the telemetry must be specified in the settings beforehand. To change settings via PC or for firmware updates, a suitable USB interface like item no. 2550 or an existing USB connection cable from Jeti, Multiplex, or Graupner is required. Please refer to the manual for more information.
Without additional sensors, the UniSens-E can measure the entire propulsion system, including voltage, current, capacity, and even RPM. A special highlight is the integrated brushless RPM sensor. To measure RPM, only a small cable connection to one of the three motor phases needs to be made using the included cable. Since a barometric (air pressure) altitude sensor with high resolution is also integrated, an altimeter and variometer are realized with the UniSens-E. Extensive alarms can also be programmed, which are reported via telemetry through the respective transmitter.
The UniSens-E is available with various connector systems, so soldering is usually not necessary. The current measurement range extends symmetrically in both directions. This means that the connector assignment, i.e., whether the battery has male or female on the positive pole, does not matter. The measurement direction is simply set in the setup. All measured values of the UniSens-E can also be viewed live directly via our UniDisplay, and all settings and alarms can be programmed.
Whether gliders, aerobatic aircraft, helicopters, HLGs, or slow flyers, the UniSens-E can be used in almost any area due to its low weight and compact size. Of course, the UniSens-E is not only suitable for model aircraft. It can also be installed in RC boats, RC cars, etc.
With the UniSens-E, you acquire a powerful universal RC telemetry sensor in all respects, which utilizes the possibilities of modern electronics to be a great help to you as a small assistant in dealing with your RC models.
And this is what the UniSens-E can do:
- complete measurement of electric drives with current, voltage, power, capacity, RPM, and altitude measurement
- integrated brushless RPM sensor
- full telemetry support for Jeti Duplex (EX), PowerBox Core, Multiplex M-Link, Graupner HoTT, Futaba FASSTest S.BUS2, JR DMSS, Fr Sky and Spektrum
- altitude measurement with automatic zeroing after power-on barometric variometer
- current measurement range up to 280 A in both directions, voltage up to 60 V
- connection for receiver signal for remote control of certain functions
- direct connection to GPS logger 2 possible for data recording in a file
- measurement of receiver battery voltage
- power supply via receiver
- current status indicated by LED
- direct viewing of live or recorded measurements with our UniDisplay
- parameter settings possible via PC, UniDisplay and telemetry
- PC software for settings and updates (SM UniSens-E Tool)
- free firmware updates via PC with our USB interface (item no. 2550) or with existing USB connection cables from Jeti, Multiplex or Graupner (the firmware file can be found here)
- usable almost anywhere due to its compact size and low weight
For technical data and the complete range of functions, please refer to the operating manual.
Typical wiring examples of the UniSens-E in the model:
1. altitude measurement only with the altitude sensor already integrated in the UniSens-E application
