UniSens-E with XT-30 connector, max. 45A, SM-Modellbau # 3107
UniSens-E with XT-30 Connector SM # 3107
With improved V2 altitude sensor. The small, powerful RC telemetry sensor measures and transmits voltage / current / power / capacity / energy / brushless RPM / altitude / variometer.
The UniSens-E is a pure telemetry sensor specifically for all electric models. It is so small and light, yet so powerful, that it can be used in almost any model. In line with SM-Modellbau's philosophy of supporting as many systems as possible, the UniSens-E also speaks the language of Jeti Duplex (EX), Multiplex M-Link, Graupner HoTT, Robbe/Futaba FASSTest, and JR DMSS. Out of the box, the UniSens-E automatically detects HoTT telemetry systems. When used with Jeti, Multiplex, Futaba, or JR, the telemetry system must be pre-selected in the settings. To change settings via PC or for firmware updates, a suitable USB interface like item no. 2550 or an existing USB connection cable from Jeti, Multiplex, or Graupner is required. Please refer to the manual for more information.
Without additional sensors, the UniSens-E can measure the entire drive system, including voltage, current, capacity, and even RPM. A brushless RPM sensor is already built-in as a special feature. To measure RPM, only a small cable connection to one of the three motor phases needs to be made using the included cable. Since a barometric (air pressure) altimeter sensor with high resolution is also integrated, an altimeter and a variometer are realized with the UniSens-E. Extensive alarms can also be programmed, which are reported via telemetry through the respective transmitter.
The UniSens-E is available with various connector systems, so soldering is usually not necessary. The current measurement range extends symmetrically in both directions. This means the pin assignment, i.e., whether the battery has a male or female connector on the positive pole, does not matter. The measurement direction is simply set in the setup. All measured values of the UniSens-E can also be viewed live directly via our UniDisplay, and all settings and alarms can be programmed.
Whether gliders, aerobatic aircraft, helicopters, HLGs, or slow flyers, the UniSens-E can be used in almost any area due to its low weight and compact size. Of course, the UniSens-E is not only suitable for model aircraft. It can also be installed in RC boats, RC cars, etc.
With the UniSens-E, you acquire a powerful, universal RC telemetry sensor in all respects, which utilizes the possibilities of modern electronics to be a great help to you in dealing with your RC models.
And this is what the UniSens-E can do:
- Complete measurement of electric drives with current, voltage, power, capacity, RPM, and altitude measurement
- Integrated brushless RPM sensor
- Full telemetry support for Jeti Duplex (EX), PowerBox Core, Multiplex M-Link, Graupner HoTT, Futaba FASSTest S.BUS2, JR DMSS, FrSky, and Spektrum
- Altitude measurement with automatic zeroing after power-on, barometric variometer
- Current measurement range up to 140 A in both directions, voltage up to 60 V (however, the maximum current carrying capacity of the connectors used must not be exceeded!)
- Connection for receiver signal for remote control of certain functions
- Direct connection to GPS logger possible for data recording in a file
- Measurement of receiver battery voltage
- Power supply via receiver
- Current status signaled by LED
- Direct viewing of measured values live or recorded with our UniDisplay
- Parameter settings possible via PC, UniDisplay, and telemetry
- PC software for settings and updates (SM UniSens-E Tool)
- Free firmware updates via PC with our USB interface (item no. 2550) or with existing USB connection cables from Jeti, Multiplex, or Graupner (the firmware file can be found here)
- Can be used almost anywhere due to its compact size and low weight
Please refer to the operating manual for technical data and the complete range of functions.
Typical wiring examples of the UniSens-E in the model:
1. Altitude measurement only with altitude sensor already integrated in the UniSens-E, e.g., for F3B / F3J gliders
2. Electric drive measurement
