CX-Res mini by WSAT (Wooden Shoe Aviation Toys)

After Vincent Merlijn's Rookie was so well received by many customers, he considered how to quickly and easily continue with our hobby. Since Vincent is a gifted model builder, a styrofoam/foam model was naturally out of the question. A wooden model was needed, simply built, small enough to fly almost anywhere, as light as possible to catch every updraft, and yet stable enough to launch the model with a bungee cord.

The Model:

These considerations led to the CX-Res mini model. Like most kits today, the CX-Res mini is designed like a 3D puzzle. The model is milled and laser-cut in Holland. The fuselage pod is made of balsa with plywood reinforcements and plywood bulkheads. Just behind the wing, the wooden fuselage transitions into the carbon fiber tail boom. The tail unit is also built from balsa.
The fuselage is spacious enough to accommodate the electronics. The wing is made entirely of balsa. For the ribs, there are extra cutouts in the spar where the ribs are first inserted before gluing them.
To achieve sufficient stability, the front part of the wing is planked. The model is covered with Oralight.

• 2 servos, e.g., HiTec HS-40 or similar
• Receiver with normal range and at least 3 channels
• Transmitter of your choice (no mixing capabilities required)
• Receiver battery
