The distance from the servo output to the center of the ball is 46mm, and the fork opening is 6mm. The delivery includes a pre-installed ball joint, part no. 993021. To ensure that the high torque of modern digital servos is transmitted to the controlled element (e.g., rudder) smoothly and without play, this new design of the fork servo arm has been engineered for extreme loads. The force is transmitted centrally from the servo splines, and the fork design effectively prevents binding of the servo output. The servo arms are made from highly compacted carbon fiber plastic. The arms are formed in hardened stainless steel molds at 300 °C and under high pressure. Since this process is similar to the production of high-stress components in large aircraft construction, it has been adopted for the manufacture of these servo arms. The result is a high-strength component that can withstand comparison with duralumin. However, it is lighter and more vibration-resistant. All servo arms are manufactured in Germany on state-of-the-art CNC machines.
