Kontronik offers the KPG25 gearbox pre-assembled on its FUN 400/480 motors. However, they can also be retrofitted to all motors with a 3.17mm shaft diameter using an adapter flange.
The KPG25 is available in gear ratios of 3.7:1, 4.2:1, and 5.2:1.
The motor pinion is included with the gearbox and must be glued onto the shaft with a Loctite adhesive (e.g., 648 or 2701, not included). The bond can be released with heat, for example, to change the gear ratio. The scope of delivery also includes needle-bearing planets and basic lubrication.
The matching adapter flange must be purchased separately if a direct drive is subsequently converted to a gearbox.
The KPG25 should be used for power outputs of up to approximately 400 watts, as a 5mm output shaft is used compared to the KPG27.
