Marabu 6 Wooden Kit, Retro-Line Glider or Electric Model, Span 2300mm

The Marabu 6 is a true retro model and originally dates back to the early 70s. Its timeless appearance and the outstanding thermal performance of its time prompted a revival of the model.
The construction largely adopted the original plans, ensuring that there are no visible differences from the original model. The internal structure has been adapted as much as possible to today's manufacturing standards. Thanks to the plug-in all-moving tailplane and the two-piece wing, the model is very transport-friendly.
The wing is still held to the fuselage with rubber bands. This prevents damage to the model during rough landings.
The kit and its flight characteristics are also suitable for beginners! The fuselage design allows for the installation of selected components.
The Marabu 6 is particularly well-suited for thermal flights on flat terrain. The easiest way to launch it, in the good old-fashioned way, is with a high-start bungee. With an initial altitude of approx. 90m, thermal connection is guaranteed in suitable weather conditions.
However, depending on your preference, it's also possible to equip the Marabu with a nose-mounted drive. This allows for contemporary, extended flights without much effort. A cr001sm airfoil is now used, which is visually very similar to the original from the 70s but is significantly thinner at 7.3%. This preserves the originally very pleasant slow-flying characteristics, making it excellent for circling in thermals.
With a flying weight of about 900g (glider version), the model's strength clearly lies in thermal soaring. Slope soaring is, of course, also possible in suitably light wind conditions.
The model is constructed entirely from wood. The instructions are designed to present the construction steps clearly for the advanced model builder. Pictures of the construction stages further clarify the steps and hopefully leave no questions unanswered.
